Target audience

Target audience

My target audience will be from around 16 onwards and fans of the mod/indie genre. However my magazine may appeal to some under the age of 16 and then not to people above 21 as it all depends on their taste to the music. If someone is a fan of the music then they may choose to read it. On the other hand though I will try to use a writing style that fits and is aimed more at people 16 to 30 as this gives me the flexibility to use different words and style of writing that will appeal to all these ages.
I will try to use a different style and layout to other magazines so that my magazine is different, but i will look at existing magazines that aim at these ages and take key points that will help and allow me to appeal to these ages more.

Callum Burdon- age 18. Gender- Male. Hobbies- football and going out with friends.
"I like this type of genre and enjoy reading the magazines that look at it. i prefer to be able to see a good balance between text and images. so i like it when text is broken up with images of the band at gigs and other pictures" (image)

steph wilson- age 29 female. likes relaxing and going for meals.
"i wouldnt say im a huge fan of this music genre or reading magazines. i find that they can be very boring if you cant get into it, the text and images have to engage the readers and get them interested, so if i was to read  a magazine id like it to be exciting and something id never seen before with images showing what im reading to give me a better idea of whats going on"

Brandon Finnigan- age 17, male, likes reading and watching films.
"to be honest im not a fan ofthis music, but if a magaizne and the article is good enough id still read it because i would be finding out new inormation. too many images makes the text less appealing and people wont even bother to read it, so id like to see more writing.
