Colour Usage: I will try and stick to a colour scheme so that my magazine isn’t too
confusing with different colours and fonts everywhere. This will give it a more
basic, but appealing look. I will try to stick to the union jack colours of
red, white and blue, along with using some yellow in their to make things stand
out more. My background will stick to darker colours to give of the gritty
effect.
Image
usage: For my front cover and main image I will use a close
up to medium shot of a person up against a brick wall/ old dirty garage or
fence to once again give off the gritty effect. I will hope to get these images
on a sunny day while the person is looking to the side and down slightly,
giving the idea that they don’t want to be seen and or “to cool” for interviews
and pictures along with the feel of arrogance and cockiness. The body language
will be leaning up against the building etc showing their nature and attitude,
with a button up shirt or polo with a Harrington jack and for props I will use
a cigarette to also show the arrogant, rebel feeling of the person attitude.
Text usage: I will use a red/burgundy masthead, trying to give it
a very gritty/brick effect to give the idea of youth and a hard effect. I will
then use a very bright yellow outline to make it stand out more catching people
eye as these are very contrasting colours. On ther other hand I may try and use
the colours red, white and blue to give of the British and mod feeling to it.
My sell lines will also be a bright yellow so that they stand out more and can
be easily seen. If I use my second option of the union jack colours, my sell
lines will be white to stick to the colour scheme as well as being seen and
read clearly. I will use quotes from
the interviews that are funny or controversial so that readers will want to see
the article. For my sell lines I will use puns as well as statements to attract
readers attention to the smaller articles.i will use 1st, 2nd and 3rd person in my text to incorporate all the different kinds of language use.
Layout and Font: my layout will consist of the image taking up the full cover, with a mast head over the top and the main sell line overlapping the image. I will use a font that is easy to read and will be seen and read from a distance so that people will be able to see this and be attracted to the magazine straight away from a distance. My main sell line, being a quote from the interview, will be larger and brighter then the sell lines, using a different font that is still easy to read, but is more appealing and less basic so that this stands out above the rest
