Research into students work
One
students work I looked at was Natalie Howey and the first thing that I noticed
when looking at her work was how simple and easy it was to navigate due to the
bar on the side containing the dates and months of work submitted. This made it
easier to find different parts of her blog allowing viewers to find what they
are looking for a lot quicker and easier. The very bright colours of her blog
make it appealing and easy on the eye, attracting people to it, as it looks
nice to read due to thus. Also the flowers around the border add to the
attraction as these give it a soft touch, but helps the article stand out even
more due to the contrast in colours
I like the format
and layout of Natalie’s double page spread as this is the type of style and
design I am looking to use. I like the large main image that shows exactly who
the article is about and catches the eye of a reader. Also the large sell line
is very attractive and appealing giving the full double page spread a nice look
and feel to it. Furthermore this layout makes it very easy to navigate and read
as it is very easy on the eye. I also like how the text is broken up by quotes
and text within shapes and different colours.
When looking at this students work I realised I like
this style of contents page as it is quite messy and all over the place which
fits the genre and image surrounding the genre. I would like to use this layout
and design, but I also have some other ideas so I will have to see what works
best. I like the colours and contrast and how everything works well and fits together.
