There are many different ways and layouts for a double page spread. One magazine that i looked at was NME and i like the way a lot of their designs consist of a large image of their artist with a colorful and catchy sell line. this is a very effective way of catching the readers attention as it lets them know exactly what they will be reading about, getting them interested from the very start. the simple but colorful layout is very attractive and easy to see and read making this article more appealing then others i have looked at.
This Q magazine consist of a very similar layout of the same artist, but Q have taken a image that takes over the double page which writing over this with Liam looking at the text, i like this as it as if Liam is trying to direct your attention to the text which is about him, showing arrogance as its all about him and no one else. This uses the colour of the image to make the large bold white text stand out more, catching the eye of a reader as it stands out a lot more of the dull dark background.
I have two design ideas and this NME magazine is one of them that i also rely like as the text is above the main image that takes up both pages. i would like to use a similar design but with a darker image with my artist sitting down looking straight forward. the text can be seen clearly and easily read as it has room to around it to be a larger text size allowing it to be easily read and appealing due to this.
